In June 2020, after the George Floyd protests, theCarl Schurz Haus in Freiburg hosted an online panel discussion with five Americans living in Germany about the state of America and their experiences with racism. It was moderated by Nicole, the host of The Expat Cast. The event was called America on Fire, and the audio was rebroadcast on The Expat Cast feed. There was a second follow-up event in July 2020.
Now, over half a year and more than a handful of several huge current events later, the panelists are coming together again for a third event in the series. How are race relations under the "unity" focused Biden administration? What does everyone think about the uprising at the Capitol on January 6, 2021? How is the pandemic and vaccination process affecting different races?
The event is fully online and in English. You can learn more about the event via the Carl Schurz Haus and register to attend here.
